About Us
For over twenty-five years, Jan and Tammy have traveled the world's wine regions on their own terms: visiting growers, sitting down with winemakers, and returning year after year to deepen relationships and discover what most travelers miss.
Jan earned his doctorate in horticulture, so he reads the soil, elevation, and climate long before he reads a label. Tammy has spent years writing the stories behind wine for regional and national publications, listening for the moments that reveal more than what's on the label. Together, they notice what most visitors miss.
Spoken Wines began with a moment in South Africa: an old winery, an extraordinary glass of wine, and the realization that these stories deserved to be told. Their daughters, RoAnne and Janelle, helped turn that idea into the brand it is today.
Today, Spoken Wines takes you inside remarkable wine regions, introducing the people and places that make every bottle worth remembering.
